The Herder-lnstitute was founded in 1956 and is one of the most highly esteemed institutions worldwide in the academic field of German as a foreign language. The EZ-DAAF was founded in 2008, aiming to intensify the linguistic and cultural exchange between Egypt and Germany. It has been established at the Faculty of Education at the Ain Shams University Cairo, one of the oldest and most renown institutions in educating German teachers in Egypt.
